Three Cheers For The End Of The School Year!

This is the time of the year when many students are excited and a little sad at the same time. The end of the school year is approaching and while many kids are ready to go out and enjoy their summer, some of the old heads (aka seniors) will be saying their final goodbyes before walking across the stage in June. Many emotions are expressed and while a lot of students are happy, for some it’s bittersweet.

Ja’Niya Hawkins (’19) stated, “With the end of the school year being so close to coming to an end is a bittersweet moment. I’m going to miss a lot of my friends and associates but on the bright side its summer!” Hawkins says she plans on working and staying in shape for track this summer. She hopes to finish off the school year like she did the last three quarters with A/B honor roll and is proud of herself for all the accomplishments she has made.

James Etter (’17) said, “It’s sort of bittersweet. Yeah I’m ready to leave, but it’s a lot of things I wish I could bring with me.” Etter plans on attending Wingate University this fall where he will major in Pre-Law and he also plans to play football. “I hope to finish strong and prepare myself for the next level.”

Ahmani Marshall (’20) said he felt like his freshman year flew by but he is ready for summer break. “Football, football, beach trip, then some more football. It’s my life.” Marshall wants to finish the year off with a bang to seal the deal.

Raven Wallace (’18) stated, “I’m going to miss school due to the fact I’m not going to see my friends everyday, but I no longer have to stress about due dates.” Wallace plans on doing some volunteer work and helping out with the theatre programs and also going on vacation with her family. She hopes to finish out this year stronger than she started.

The end of the school year brings about many emotions and while a lot of students are returning, many of them like the seniors will be leaving the eagle nest to go and start their own journeys. On the plus side, summer is around the corner and the time to sit back and relax is coming up very soon!
