Rebecca Glastetter (’17) is the features editor for the East Forsyth school newspaper. She is a senior and involved in many school and non-school related activities.
Being an editor in the Newspaper means you edit your sections articles and put the articles together on InDesign. They are also in charge of making sure everyone gets their articles turned in for class editing on time. “I really liked helping Starr with InDesign last year, so it was something I really wanted to do this year,” stated Glastetter.
Starr Dove (’17) Co-Editor in Chief has this to say about Glastetter, “well, being the editor for Features last year, I got some advice and insight from Becca when it came to InDesign. It was my first year being an editor and I needed any extra eyes that I could get. She always had a good idea on layouts and she basically learned with me. So this year when she stepped up to take the job while I moved up, she was prepared way more than I had been and I admire how good she is doing with InDesign because it sure as heck ain’t easy.”
Glastetter has been doing a great job according to her staff reporters. She believes that the first papers have turned out really nice and can’t wait to see what the future has in stored for her as an editor.
Glastetter keeps herself busy with Drama Club, Finance Academy, HOSA, National Honor Society, CTE Honor Society, and lastly Science Honor Society. She is the secretary for HOSA and on the running crew for the theater productions. Glastetter also works outside of school as a hostess at Outback Steakhouse. She participates in the training of new hostesses and works in takeaways.
She is hoping to attend Appalachian State University in the fall along with her best friend Sydney Buro (’17). “Me and Becca have been good friends since the 8th grade and I hope for us to continue that friendship through college,” stated Buro.
Her favorite class is Nursing Fundamentals because it’s helping her pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. She is also a part of a big family including three siblings, an older brother, older sister, along with a younger sister.
We are all happy for Glastetter to be our editor this year, and can’t wait to see her grow as a writer and an editor this school year.
