Summer Concerts

School is out, the sun is shining, and the music is great. Students all over East Forsyth are planning for summer concerts. The summer is a great time for artists to plan concert dates. The weather is beautiful for outdoor arenas, there is no school, and fewer commitments.

Artists and bands from every genre are coming to North Carolina this summer. Everything from the Drake and Future Summer Sixteen Tour to the Dierks Bentley Somewhere on a Beach Tour is in concert this summer.

In the summer outdoor music pavilions are very popular because they have good seats for cheaper prices than indoor venues. This is due to the lawn seating provided. Lawn seating is first come first serve, therefore if you get there early enough you can get a front row, middle lawn seat that allows for great vision and sound. The audience can just grab their lawn chairs and picnic basket and have a nice summer picnic listening to incredible live music by popular artists.

The PNC music Pavilion in Charlotte North Carolina is arguably the most popular outdoor music pavilion in our lovely state of North Carolina. Artists and bands from all over the world come to this landmark in Charlotte North Carolina to put on incredible music performances for people from all around the state, including our own town of Kernersville.

Danlee Brown (‘17) has been to three concerts at the PNC Music Pavilion. Brown said “I like the outdoor area because I get to enjoy the summer weather while listening to the music, and it is cheaper.”

Popular bands such as the Zac Brown Band,  and Mumford and Sons have played there in summers past. This summer Rascal Flatts, Panic! at the Disco, Snoop Dogg, Counting Crows, 5 Seconds of Summer, and many more solo artists and bands will be bringing their tours to the PNC Music Pavilion.

Other venues in North Carolina are also bringing us great concerts. Justin Bieber is coming to the Greensboro Coliseum on July 6th. Samantha Martin (‘16) has already bought tickets to the concert and is eagerly awaiting Bieber’s arrival in Greensboro. Martin said, “Oh gosh, I am excited for the entire concert, but I guess I am most excited to hear him perform ‘Love Yourself.’”

Twenty One Pilots, has recently become well known after the release of the Blurryface album containing their popular single “Stressed Out” is coming to Charlotte on June 28th and Raleigh on June 29th.

Obviously there is no shortage of concerts this summer, so buy experiences instead of material things, grab a lawn chair, and enjoy fun and beautiful music at a concert this summer.
