The Division has finally hit the shelves on March 8th! The Division is a Mass Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game also known as a MMORPG, which takes place in post-apocalyptic New York City, giving the player the chance to explore from the comfort of their own home. Due to a virus that was released, the population of the city is forced to undergo martial law. You play as an agent that is supposed to take the city back from certain third party groups.

Vinny Tucciarone (’17) said, “The Division was good, the game-play was smooth and the controls were tight. The graphics did downgrade from the E3 presentation, but it still looks very good.” The game has been anticipated for two years due to the delay that had occurred skipping its original release date in 2015. Ryan Davies (’16) said, “The Division is a good game and can actually bring people together due to the MMO part of it.”

The game has a bunch of features that improve the game-play and also increase the social aspect of the game. Khalon Martin (’18) said, “My favorite feature is the customization of the gear and skills along with variety of A.I.s.” There are many A.I.s in this game and they actually pose as a threat towards you whenever you play the game and can be a pain in the butt if you don’t deal with them in the right way.

Tucciarone said, “My favorite feature in game would have to be the Dark Zone. The Dark Zone puts every player either by themselves or they can work as a team. They can wither help other players in it with missions or they can kill them and take what they had picked up since entering the Dark Zone.”

Either way, many people will try and compare this game to the popular game called Destiny, which is also a MMORPG. You shouldn’t compare the two games though because they are very different games. You should just enjoy the game as they are. Many people can enjoy this game and even Martin said you “definitely can if you’re into shooters and RPGs.”
