With the release of Justin Bieber’s new album, fans are excited to look at all of the celebrity’s past and present achievements. The Purpose album was released on November 13, and has since set new records all around the world.
According to band-brand.com, Bieber’s fame first began when he was 13 years old by his mother posting singing videos of him on YouTube. He was later discovered by Usher, who assisted him in his pursuit of a music career. Bieber’s first album, My World EP, was released on November 13, 2009. Singles like, “One Time” and “One Less Lonely Girl” were some of Bieber’s first songs to help his career take off. It seemed as if overnight Justin Bieber had become a worldwide pop sensation, and his fans began calling themselves “Beliebers”.
In 2010, Bieber released My World 2.0. The album included hits such as, “Baby” and “Somebody to Love”.
Bieber’s fame was growing rapidly and the Beliebers couldn’t get enough. A documentary was later produced about Bieber’s music career and 2010 concert tour. Justin Bieber: Never Say Never premiered on February 11, 2011. Bieber’s success continued to climb with the release of his next album, Believe, in 2012.
However, Bieber took a break from his music career and went through a rough patch for a year and a half. Now Bieber is back and has found his “purpose”.
According to hollywoodlife.com, Bieber sold more than 640,000 copies of Purpose within the first week of its release. The popularity of his album continues to rise with his announcement of the Purpose Tour in 2016. Bieber will be coming to Greensboro, NC on July 6 and many East students are excited to go to his concert!
Rachel Meares (’17) will be attending the concert and she said, “I become a ten year old girl again when I hear his music and I will cry when I see him in concert. I’m just so excited to see him for the first time ever. #belieber4ever.”
The Bieber Fever is back and soon, everyone will become a Belieber.
