Insurgent, second of the Divergent trilogy comes to theaters March 20th.  The movie is based off the book series written by Veronica Roth. The books are #1 New York Times Best Sellers, that’s how you know they are quality books. It stars Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, and Theo James. The rating of the movie is PG-13.

The plot of the movie goes as follows: now on the run from Jeanine (Kate Winslet) and the rest of the power-hungry Erudites, Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) search for allies and answers in the ruins of Chicago. They must find out what Tris’ family sacrificed their lives to protect and why the Erudites will do anything to stop them. Side by side, Tris and Four face one seemingly insurmountable challenge after another, as they unravel the secrets of the past and — ultimately — the future of their world (Cinemark.com).

When interviewed on his thoughts about Insurgent, after he watched the trailer, Parker Dotson (’16) commented “If you like fast paced action movies, then it looks great”. Dotson said he had not seen the first movie, but he would be interested to if he was going to see Insurgent.

Dotson has a point, if you are interested in watching this movie it would not be a bad idea to see the first movie or read the books. Although the books might be slightly different from the movies, it would give you a more knowledgeable understanding of the movie. If you decide to just go and watch the movie it probably wouldn’t take away that much from your experience, because the movie looks so good. The trailer for this movie has so much action crammed into it, and it should only build your anticipation. Make your way to the movie theaters on March 20th because you will not want to miss out on this exciting movie.
