It’s official, Josh Gordon has been suspended yet again. The National Football League’s most dominant wide-receiver at one point has just recently received another substance abuse charge.
Josh Gordon was suspended for testing positive for alcohol. Now you might ask, “What is the big deal with this?”. Since Josh Gordon accumulated a DWI last summer and has abused the Substance Abuse Policy multiple times, it is now a repeated offense for him.
Ray Farmer, General Manager for the Cleveland Browns and a Kernersville native stated, “As we have conveyed, we are disappointed to once again be at this point with Josh. Throughout his career we have tried to assist him in getting support like we would with any member of our organization. Unfortunately our efforts have not resonated with him.”
It’s a shame that Gordon can’t get his act together. The franchise receiving record holder obtained 1646 yards while averaging 18.9 yards per catch and nine touchdowns in his 2013 season. He was also the league’s leading receiver in 2013. The crazy thing is that he did all of this while still being suspended from two games!
It’s a shame to see such a talented and amazing athlete go down the wrong path. If he just did the right things, everything would be so much simpler. He doesn’t realize that his actions have consequences and until he takes responsibility for his actions he will continue to do the wrong things.
